Did you ever want to access your private Favorites while being at work or to share your link collection with others? With Online-Bookmarks you have the possibility to gain a multiuser Bookmark management system that keeps Bookmarks, Favorites and Links online, where they actually are needed. It makes it easy to store browser URL’s central and access them from anywhere. Share site experiences with others in a social-bookmarking manner or keep your bookmarks private and safe as you like. It has never been easier to manage data properties at once, such as editing, moving, deleting or sharing. It is also possible to import/export Favorites from and to the most common browsers, such as Microsoft Internet Explorer, Mozilla, Opera and Netscape. Benefit from some nice addons that makes Online-Bookmarks really convenient.
All you need to make it work is a Web server (I do it with Apache) with PHP (Version 4.3.0 or later) and a MySQL server (at least Version 4.1).
Since some variables are stored in sessions, you must have cookies (or at least session cookies) enabled in your browser, otherwise Online-Bookmarks will not work. The “remember me” function also stores information in a cookie, so it is a good idea to enable cookies anyway. There is quite some JavaScript code in Online-Bookmarks, such as the menu, the Sidebar tree and parts of the tree selection. Therefore, to apply with Online-Bookmarks you need to use a browser with JavaScript enabled.
If you would like to benefit from the nice little feature that downloads Favicons, you must have ImageMagick installed on your server. It does not matter whether you have installed ImageMagick from source or you use the binary distribution, both versions are working fine.
This label indicates that I could install the script without major problems and I could run the script without the need for major modifications to the original code (except for the usual configuration, of course). The label does, on the other hand, not indicate that scripts without this label would not work properly. The missing of the „tested & working“-label just indicates that I did not yet test these scripts.
This label indicates that the owner of this website uses this script / application for his own projects with success and satisfaction. This does, however, not indicate that these projects could not have been realized using other scripts / applications as well or that other scripts would not fit the demands of other projects as well or even better.
